Our Headlight Restoration Process

Wet Sand Process
As the sun beats on your headlights consistently day by day, the clear coat on them will soon be removed. Eventually what was clear is now a horrible yellow layer.
We will be removing the old layer of clear coat that has failed and oxidized.
We first inspect your Headlights and see what grit we will use to start wet sanding.
800 Grit
1000 Grit
1500 Grit
2000 Grit
3000 Grit
This first initial process on your headlights will prepare them for the polishing stages up next !

Compound Headlights
After the failed clear coat layer is removed from your headlights. Using our polishing machines, we start compounding them to remove the previous wet standing grit marks we used.
This second step will remove as much haziness and revealing slight clarity back on to your headlights.

Refine Polish Headlights/Apply Protection
The final step is to refine the vehicle’s headlights to bring back as much clarity and shine to them while applying a protection for durability.
Using our light polish and polishing pad, we remove any induced haze caused from the aggressiveness compound from the previous step with our polishing machine!
By this step, your headlights are looking insanely better before we lock it in with our protection.
We apply our top of the line Ceramic Wax/Sealant to make sure your restored headlights remain the same.

Why do my lens get ugly?
Just like paint, your headlights have a thin layer of Clear Coat on them. They are commonly exposed to heat from the sun. Especially if you don’t have a garage to park your vehicle or leave it where the sun is beaming on your lights. This will only add more damage to them resulting in the clear coat to diminish and bring a yellow ugly layer.
Can you restore any headlights?
Just like many things, there’s a certain point where your headlights can get really bad for us detailers to repair. Some imperfections may even go inside of your headlights where we won’t be able to help in that aspect. We’ll always talk to our customers on expectations before any work commences.
How long does the process take?
Our Headlight Restoration process can take any where from 45 minutes to 1 hour. If the condition of the headlight is bad, then we will take slightly longer to complete.
How do I keep my headlights looking good?
Waxes and sealants will only protect your car for so long. If you can park your vehicle in the shade then they’ll simply last longer than if you park outside in the sun. Our Maintenance Program keeps great care of all areas of your vehicle!
